Desde muy joven empecé a sentir curiosidad por el dibujo y las modificaciones corporales, pero no fue hasta 2006 que tuve la oportunidad de tomar unas clases de piercing y eso me llevó a aprender y conectar más con el mundo del tatuaje. Así que en 2007 empecé a formarme como tatuador, para entonces ya estaba rodeado de otros artistas que me enseñaron las técnicas básicas. Después de practicar durante un buen tiempo conseguí trabajo en uno de los estudios más importantes de mi país, Mithos Tattoo.

Tuve la oportunidad de ir a Texas, donde participé en la Dallas Tattoo Expo. Allí hice un tatuaje en colaboración con mi amigo y gran tatuador en Texas, Quin Hernandez. Conseguimos el premio al Mejor Artista de Tatuajes Negros y Grises en Dallas, Texas del show. Fue un lugar que me inspiró gracias a su tranquilidad, el clima, su gente y la bien llamada amabilidad sureña. Por estas razones decidí probar suerte y formar parte del equipo de Dark Age Tattoo, que es uno de los estudios más importantes del estado y del país en donde me he especializado como tatuador de animales en Dallas, Texas.
Ha sido excelente poder nutrirme de muchos artistas que tienen mucho que aportar a mi experiencia, además de poder compartir con ellos los conocimientos que he adquirido a lo largo de estos más de 17 años de carrera.

His studio was immaculately clean. I had full reign over watching TV or what music I wanted to listen to. It is truly a "VIP" experience. His assistant Ronald is amazing at making sure you, the client, are taken care of during the entire process. Admittedly, I was a watery-eyed mess when Jose finished. Tears of happiness and joy flowed when I looked in the mirror and saw that Jose truly captured "Murphy" for me. There were certain details about "Murphy" that I wanted Jose to capture, and he did! Now, I get to see him every day, thanks to Jose. Many people who have seen the tattoo in person cannot believe the level of detail that Jose put into it.
