Rock and the art of tattooing have always gone hand in hand; undoubtedly, they share a connection that has endured over the years and only continues to strengthen as time passes.

We can see some examples like the legend Johnny Cash, The “Man in Black” had the phrase “Live without regrets” tattooed on his arm. It symbolizes his attitude of living life without regrets and his love for country music.

Amy Winehouse had also several tattoos, but one of the most iconic was a bird portrait with the words “Never Clip My Wings.” It symbolizes her struggle against addiction and her desire for creative freedom.

Or the immensely talented Lenny Kravitz who has a dragon tattoo on his back. The dragon represents spirituality and protection in Eastern culture, and for Lenny, it also symbolizes his mixed heritage (his mother was of Bahamian descent, and his father was Russian Jewish) and his connection to different cultures.

This time I am honored to be part of this project for Scott Stapp, the lead vocalist of the band Creed, who has left a lasting mark on an entire generation in the world of rock.

"All my clients seek to represent significant ideas, beliefs, memories, or events in their lives, and Scott was no exception. "

Scott and I share something—both of us have always given our best on stage for our audiences. It’s a great pleasure that, years later, I find myself working closely with him on this and future projects for him and the rest of the band.

Scott Stapp is a deeply spiritual man who, throughout his life, has faced and overcome many demons thanks to his unwavering faith. It’s this perseverance and faith that made me feel connected to him when we started this project.

All my clients seek to represent significant ideas, beliefs, memories, or events in their lives, and Scott was no exception. I designed a realistic portrait of Jesus on his right forearm, precisely during a crucial moment in his career—the reunion tour of his band, Creed. So, it’s not just about decorating skin; it’s about marking moments, telling stories.

The portrait of Jesus on his right arm will accompany him on every stage he steps onto and every time he takes the microphone to sing.
